Know Breast Cancer
"The primary focus of the breast cancer movement has been on detection and not prevention. Know Breast Cancer was founded to educate women about real breast cancer prevention," explains Susan Wadia-Ells PhD, founding director.

Know Breast Cancer’s 7 Easy Ways campaign is focused on helping women significantly lower their risk of developing breast cancer… ever or never again. Taking lots of Vitamin D3, and avoiding birth control pills once you reach 40, are two of the campaign's 7 Easy Ways.

The group hopes to fill the gap in providing prevention information. Since detecting and treating breast cancer is a multi billion dollar business, medical centers, drug companies and breast health clinics offer detection and treatment, doing little to actually limit the number of women who develop a first diagnosis. Self help, the key to stopping breast cancer before it starts, is Know Breast Cancer’s proactive message.

To help women enjoy a prevention lifestyle,  Know Breast Cancer translates scientific research into every day language. The organization provides valuable information through its website at www.knowbreastcancer.net and blog at www.thetruthaboutbreastcancer.com. Know Breast Cancer also does workshops, talks and media appearances throughout North America.

Know Breast Cancer recently received its non profit 501 c3 status; it was formerly a donor fund with the Essex County Community Foundation.
